Mary Stankovics, D.V.M. graduated from Ross University where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1989. She started her career in general and emergency medicine. In 1993 she became the second full time veterinarian for The Seeing Eye, where she developed her interest in canine reproduction. In 2004, Mary started her own business, Pleasant Valley Veterinary Services, LLC. She has a special interest in the study of theriogenology and neonatology. She is a member in good standing with the Society for Theriogenology, American Veterinary Medical Association, New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association and the Metropolitan Veterinary Medical Association. Mary shares her home with four cats and her Golden Retriever, Hunt’s Krumpet MX, MXJ, CDX, CCA, CGC. Mary and Krumpet are a competitive team and currently participate in agility, obedience and field work.

Debbie Leach has been a Veterinary Technician for over 20 years. Her career has been focused in the specialty field of Canine Reproduction, with specialized training at the University of Pennsylvania in Canine Reproductive Management. Debbie managed the breeding program for The Seeing Eye in Morristown New Jersey for 13 years, where she handled all aspects of reproductive management of their breeding colony of 90 dogs and a yearly production of 700 puppies. During her time with The Seeing Eye, Debbie designed and implemented a puppy enrichment program to initiate early learning opportunities for future Guide Dogs. Debbie was hired by Guiding Eyes for the Blind in Patterson New York to institute similar programs for their puppy program. Debbie froze semen on the Seeing Eye’s colony stud dogs and maintained the inventory for all stud dogs over her years of service before joining her long time friend and colleague, Dr. Mary Stankovics to open Straws to Paws LLC. Debbie enjoys competing in Agility, Obedience and Field work with her 3 Golden Retrievers.
